More About Markham Real Estate
Markham has many distinct community profiles. There's the old town on Main St. of Unionville, where you'll find plenty of two-storey townhomes with red brick exterior walls that give these homes that alluring historic feel. The ever-changing downtown core is featuring more new high-rise condo buildings, which is expected to continue as the population of Markham keeps soaring. Many other neighbourhoods within the Markham real estate market consist of family-friendly houses, luxurious estates, and starter homes. The diversity and constant growth of Markham means that there's a dream home for everyone within its limits.
The Markham single-family home market consists mostly of upscale, two-storey houses that can easily accommodate large families. The bricks and expansive porches on the outside are matched by the space on the inside of most homes. Floor plans range from anywhere between 2,500 and 3,500 square feet, and the majority of these houses are listed for between $1 million and $2 million. You might even call some of them luxury homes.
However, Markham also has its share of ultra-spacious mansions that ooze elegance and opulence that are usually priced at over $3 million. Not only do these homes have additional interior space, but they're also situated on very large properties (over one acre) near the countryside.
At the more affordable end of the Markham real estate market are the newer condos that you'll often find around Yonge Street and Markham Road, as well as the colourful row homes dispersed in a few different neighbourhoods. Units in a modern condo building in Markham are usually between $300,000 and $550,000, depending on whether you want a one-bedroom or two-bedroom unit. Semi-detached homes range from about $500,000 to $800,000.

Other notable shopping areas in Markham include The Promenade and Markville Shopping Centre.
